- CANDIDATE SURVEY -

Dear Candidate,

The time to abolish abortion in Oklahoma is now. The reason you are receiving this letter is because we need legislators who are willing to do the right thing, and the brave thing. Abortion must be abolished immediately, without exception or compromise. (Proverbs 3:27-28)

You may be asking, “isn’t abortion already abolished in Oklahoma”? The answer is an emphatic, “No.” Not only is abortion not abolished, but it is most likely more prevalent than it has ever been in this state. Why? That’s because our laws explicitly carve out an immunity that bars women who murder their children from being prosecuted with any crime at all. As a result, a woman who self-manages her abortion, through any means available, is free from prosecution. [E.g. 63 O.S. § 1-731.4(B) (3) (a)]

This means that abortion remains legal in Oklahoma, and it will always be legal as long as this immunity clause remains intact. Abortion must be criminalized, which means that the same criminal penalties that punish someone who murders you and I must be extended to apply to all people, including unborn people. This is what the Equal Protection clause of the 14th amendment of the US Constitution requires, as well as what King Jesus requires. (Leviticus 19:15, Exodus 12:2-3, 21:23-25 Genesis 9:6)

Unfortunately, the Oklahoma legislature has not done this, and Pro-Life organizations have consistently fought these efforts. For that reason, abolitionists of abortion are not to be considered “Pro-Life”. In summary, pro-lifers support the regulation of abortion, and abolitionists support the abolition of abortion. Many folks who consider themselves “Pro-Life” today would become abolitionists if they came to learn of the distinction, and more and more are. We are asking you to join us, and become an abolitionist.

In the survey below, a “yes” to the answers below will signal to us, and the rapidly growing abolitionist movement in Oklahoma, that you can be trusted on this issue, and should be supported. Abolish Abortion Oklahoma is seeking to publicly endorse and support candidates that can confidently stand on these principles and hold to them faithfully. (Proverbs 24:11-12, Exodus 21:12)

Sincerely,
Nathan Weisser

1.
DO YOU AGREE that human life begins at conception (i.e. fertilization), and that human life is valuable because all humans are created in the image of God?
2.
DO YOU AGREE with the Oklahoma Republican Party platform’s stance on establishing equal protection for all preborn children? (Section IB Belief 1) (Cited below)
3.
DO YOU AGREE with the Oklahoma Republican Party platform’s resolution that abortion’s abolition must be brought to a floor vote by the Oklahoma legislature? (Section IB Addendum) (Cited below)
4.
DO YOU AGREE that murdering anyone should be illegal for everyone, including a mother who murders her own preborn baby?
5.
IF ELECTED, WOULD YOU publicly support and, if seeking legislative office, co-author and vote for legislation to abolish abortion by providing equal protection of the laws, and the equal rendering of justice? Read the latest example of this legislation here.
6.
DO YOU AGREE TO NOT SUPPORT any legislation that discriminates against the life of a preborn child, violates the U.S. Constitution by denying preborn children the equal protection of laws protecting life, or otherwise requires public officials to show partiality in judgement against the life of a preborn child?

Such legislation includes bills with provisions that grant blanket immunity, provide absolute exemption/exclusion from civil or criminal liability, or establish available penalties lower than the same laws protecting born people based on whether the victim has reached a certain age, stage of development, or been born yet (e.g. 15-week ban, heartbeat bill, bill with exceptions for the mother, etc.)
7.
DO YOU AGREE TO NOT SUPPORT any legislation that treats the destruction of living preborn human beings like healthcare by merely regulating the who, what, when, where, why, and how it may happen?

Such legislation includes bills that only regulate the method (e.g. partial-birth, dismemberment), location (e.g. hospital, surgery center standards), device (e.g. surgical, pills), disclosures (e.g. requiring a prior ultrasound or statement read), or other means and circumstances rather than prohibiting the homicidal act itself.
8.
DO YOU AGREE TO NOT SUPPORT any legislation that falls short of the abolition of abortion, but gives lip-service to the preborn, or legislation that regulates a tangential aspect of the abortion industry?

Such legislation includes acts that create “days of remembrance”, monuments, etc — which would be fine to do after abortion is abolished — but only currently serve as PR stunts that delay the abolition of abortion by making it seem like the lawmakers actually care about the thing they’re simultaneously refusing to abolish. Legislation like this also includes attempts at unnecessarily regulating things like abortion pills in the water supply, in an attempt to grab headlines and manufacture “victories”, but don’t actually do anything in reality.
9.
DO YOU AGREE, along with the Republican Party Platform, that all of these principles necessarily apply to human beings created in the process of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and would inevitably impact that industry, as all preborn humans are treated with equal rights, dignity, and the protections due them, even if they are in a petri dish or a freezer? In other words, do you agree that human beings should not be trafficked?
Excerpts from the OKGOP Platform on the Abolition of Abortion and Equal Protection:
Section IB, We Believe Entry 1: “We believe that at the point of conception (including invitro fertilization [IVF]), a person is granted the rights guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution; therefore, civil authorities have a duty before God to uphold justice by establishing equal protection under the law for all preborn children.”
Section 1B, We Support Entry 1: “We support a U.S. Constitutional Amendment protecting the life of the innocent preborn, and we support a State Constitutional Amendment to prohibit preborn baby murder and treat as murder the sale, distribution, and ingestion of abortifacients ending the life of a preborn child.”
Section 1B, Addendum: “Addendum - Be it resolved that the abolition of preborn baby murder be brought to a full floor vote in the Oklahoma Legislature.”
