Recently, in an Oklahoma Voice article, Oklahoma Speaker of the House Kyle Hilbert is quoted as follows:

“When there’s not any reported abortions, I don’t know how you further reduce from zero,” he said. “… We’ve done a great job of standing up for unborn children in Oklahoma and so I feel confident I know where our laws are.”

This was in response to the fact that many legislators have filed anti-abortion bills, one of which is Senator Deevers’ abolition bill, which we wholeheartedly support.

The truth of the matter is, abortion is still happening in Oklahoma, and it’s not just a small number left over after the overturning of Roe Vs Wade. On the contrary, it’s most likely happening at the rate it was previously, and has may even increased.

Foundation to Abolish Abortion made a study which shows the (admittedly conservative) approximate amount of abortions that are still happening in so-called “abortion-free” states like Oklahoma. It can be found here.

Please consider contacting Speaker Kyle Hilbert and letting him know that he is wrong. Not only is he wrong, but thousands of babies are being murdered under the cover of the laws he passes, on his watch. God demands that he do his duty as a magistrate and punish evil, per Romans 13. At this moment, he is being blatantly derelict in that duty.
